Ben Sturgell
BIOGRAPHY
Ben Sturgell is a singer/songwriter whose music is not the typical product of a Nashville musician. "What's different about my music is that it's real," Ben explains. "It's real because it is my story, and about my real life. My music is written by me, it isn't manufactured. It comes from my soul."
Sturgell's music is a hybrid of sounds similar to Sting, Michael Bublé, Maroon 5 and John Legend. From the hypnotic melodies in Drive, to the toe-tapping, dance-insisting beats in Crazy, this album is sure to please the ears of the most critical music lovers.
Since Sturgell has been in Nashville, he has played at many of the top venues in the surrounding area. Some of those venues include The Rutledge, 12th and Porter, and Third and Lindsley in Nashville, and 527 in Murfreesboro, TN. His debut album, February Blue, was released in October 2009, and has generated a considerable amount of hype among music-lovers around town and across the country. "Pulling a crowd of 200+ at a show in Nashville is a hard thing to do for an independent artist. Im doing it though, which is very encouraging for me. Im ready to show the rest of the country my music!" Sturgell exclaims.
In 2008, Sturgell created My Music Box Lounge (MBL), an event that allows both local and national artists to showcase their talent in front of a live audience. It also gives them a chance to perform and network with some of the music industry's top executives. Sturgell performed regularly at MBL in Murfreesboro, TN along with other local and national artists such as Diana DeGarmo, and Leon Timbo. Now he is bringing MBL to Nashville.
His passion for music, life and love, have no need for explanation. Listen. Let his lyrics that encompass the brutally honest truths about heartache and disappointment, obsession and bliss, blessings and wonders take you to that place in your own life where you can identify. Where it seems almost as if the song was written specifically for you. It will happen, if you let it.
